mindfulness
“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have.”
– Eckhart Tolle
Get this right and the rest can flow
If you were to ask me, what attribute should I learn first for a better life, mindfulness would be my number ONE. When you master mindfulness everything else flows and you become conscious of everything that is happening in the present moment. We can become the observer to our thoughts and gain control over our lives rather than letting emotion and an unguided mind cloud our living.
Mindfulness takes time and constant practice. It may be easy to be mindful and present in certain situations which are calm and peaceful: however, when all hell is breaking lose around you it can be easy for the mind to give way to emotion rather than staying in the present moment. Anxiety and depression created by fear can be overwhelming at times.
One of the oldest and simplest techniques, breath, is still what I have found to be the best for bringing oneself back into the present moment. Whenever I find myself struggling with my mind or feeling overwhelmed, I focus on my breathing and take a deep breath in and slowly exhale out. Being able to discuss your new awareness and discovery into yourself is important. It can at times seem very alienating when you feel that you are the only one who has discovered this newfound power. Remember that it is a blessing and not a curse.
If you feel that there has been too much chaos in your life and you would like to have some guidance understanding mindfulness and the peace and quietness that comes with it, then reach out by filling out the form below.
