So what is a goal?

Here is the Wikipedia definition.
“A goal or objective is an idea of the future or desired result that a person or a group of people envision, plan, and commit to achieve. People endeavour to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines.”
So you could say that breathing is a goal. Waking up after going to sleep is a goal. I know this might seem very basic but, like I will always advocate: life is simple until we decide to complicate it.

The process of setting clear well defined goals with a timeframe helps reduce the clutter in our minds and simplifies the process of living. I have met a lot of people who thrive on being busy and living a hectic life yet seem to get very little done in comparison to others who live calm peaceful lives who don’t seem busy. The difference between them has been that, their goals and the way they go about achieving them.

Your life goals need not be labelled big or small, they should not be compared to other people’s goals and the time it takes to achieve them should be a time that suits you and what you feel you want out of life in the present moment. I have found the most common mistake and reason for not achieving a goal, is that the goal does not belong to the individual who is trying to achieve it. That means that the motivation to achieving said goal is not their own. If your desire is lacking to commit to and achieve the goal, then you will struggle every day to move towards your goal and will often fight with yourself mentally to find motivation.
